Preserve Bedminster Holding Fundraising Event

The group opposes a proposed application for a solar farm on Kirby Farm.

With a hope to raise money for their efforts against a proposed solar farm, Preserve Bedminster is holding a Family Fun Night June 2 at the Branchburg Sports Complex.

The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the facility on Readington Road.

Preserve Bedminster is already opposing a planned application that could put up to 49,000 solar panels on the Kirby Farm if it is approved by the Land Use Board.

The application was first heard before the board May 9.

This event is being held to support Stop Somerset Hills Power Plant, which has partnered with Raritan Headwaters Association and New Jersey Highlands Coalition in its opposition.

All profits raised through the event will be used for legal battles possibly ahead in the application process, and the New Jersey Highlands Coalition has set up a special fund to accept tax deductible contributions on behalf of the group.

The Family Fun Night will be free admission, with an opportunity to meet local business owners and get information on the grassroots effort.

LaserCade tickets will be sold, as will tickets for PlayMazing, and the batting cages will be $30 for every half hour.

In addition, the event will include tricky tray gift baskets, a photo-op with the three-time title winner in the Miss America Pageant Organization, live fashion shows, a DJ, face painting, refreshments and more.

For a free gift, pre-register to attend by sending your name and number of attendees to preservebedminster@gmail.com.
