Videos of Showering Boys Gets Ex-Vice Principal 6 Years

Patrick Lott, former Bernardsville Middle School administrator, admits videotaping boys in showers at Immaculata.

Patrick Lott, assistant principal at Bernardsville Middle School prior to his arrest in December 2011, pleaded guilty Wednesday to videotaping boys in the showers at Immaculata High School where he was a volunteer basketball coach. Lott, appearing in the afternoon before Superior Court Judge Julie Marino, agreed to a six-year prison sentence as part of a plea agreement with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. He also agreed to forfeit his state educator’s certificates and will be subject to the terms of Megan’s Law, requiring the registration of sex offenders. Court Date Delayed for Former Bernardsville Middle School Administrator

No new court date set for former assistant principal at Bernardsville Middle School, offered 10-year plea deal in January.

A court date set for Friday morning has been adjourned for Patrick Lott, the former assistant principal at Bernardsville Middle School who last month was offered a 10-year plea deal on charges related to his alleged videotaping of boys in the showers at Immaculata High School before his arrest in December 2011. According to the office of James Wronko, attorney for Lott, the court appearance scheduled for Friday in Superior Court in Somerville has been adjourned, and no new date set as of Thursday. Lott last appeared before state superior Court Judge Julie Marino on Jan. 25, when Laurie Head-Melillo, a prosecutor for Somerset County, publicly offered him a plea deal of 10 years of jail time. Traffic Safety Improvements Planned at Somerset Hills Schools

Somerset Hills schools and municipal officials meet to look at ways to improve traffic at elementary and middle schools.

School and borough officials agreed at a joint meeting on Tuesday that steps should be taken to make traffic safety improvements at the Bedwell Elementary and Bernardsville Middle schools, with the installation of speed tables likely to be the first step. Beyond that, the Somerset Hills regional Board of Education along with the Bernardsville Borough Council, agreed to set up an ad hoc committee to review other potential steps to make dropoffs and pickups safer for the school community and at borough facilities along the jointly-owned driveway leading off Seney Drive. The traffic flow at the Bedwell Elementary and Bernardsville Middle School off Seney Drive and future planning for athletic fields are the scheduled topics for a scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday between the Somerset Hills Board of Education and Bernardsville Borough Council. The meeting is scheduled to be held in the community room at Bernards High School, at 25 Olcott Ave. in Bernardsville. 10-Year Plea Deal Offered to Ex-Bernardsville Administrator

The Somerset County Prosecutor's office has offered a plea deal of 10 years of jail time to Patrick Lott, the former assistant principal at Bernardsville Middle School, to settle up charges that he had videotaped nude boys in the showers at Immaculata High School prior to his arrest in December 2011. The offer was made publicly on Friday morning in the courtroom of state Superior Court Judge Julie Marino in Somerville. Laurie Head-Melillo, a prosecutor for Somerset County, named the proposed jail term during a brief appearance before the judge. The attorney for Patrick Lott, the former assistant principal at the Bernardsville Middle School arrested in December 2011 on charges he allegedly videotaped male students showering at Immaculata High School in Somerville, said his client is awaiting the offer of a plea deal from the Somerset County prosecutor's office, but there is no guarantee it will be accepted. Attorney James Wronko said that Lott, who was a volunteer coach at Immaculata during the alleged incidents, is due to return to state Superior Court in Somerville on Jan. 25. Patrick Lott, the former Bernardsville Middle School vice-principal accused of videotaping male students in the showers at Immaculata High School, is scheduled to appear for his next court hearing on Aug. 10, according to his attorney, James Wronko, who added he will question the basis for some of the charges. Lott is slated to appear for a further arraignment on charges for which he was indicted late last month, Wronko said. A former Bernardsville Middle School assistant principal has been indicted on 91 counts in connection with allegedly videotaping nude boys in the shower at Immaculata High School, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday. Patrick Lott, 55, of Somerville, has been indicted on 29 counts of third-degree invasion of privacy, 30 counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, 17 counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and 15 counts of fourth-degree endangering the welfare of a child. As of Wednesday afternoon, Patrick Lott, assistant principal at Bernardsville Middle School, remained jailed while an investigation continued into accusations that the school administrator had videotaped male students at Immaculata High School in Somerville, where he had been a volunteer, said Capt. Jack Bennett, a spokesman for the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
