Actor James Gandolfini, best known for his role as larger-than-life New Jersey mob boss Tony Soprano, died Wednesday after suffering a heart attack in Rome. He was 51. Gandolfini, a Bergen County native who attended Rutgers, was in Italy for the Taormina Film Festival, at which he was expected to make an appearance during the closing gala on Saturday. "He is one of the greatest actors of this or any time," Sopranos creator David Chase said in a statement. "A great deal of that genius resided in those sad eyes. I remember telling him many times, ‘You don’t get it. You’re like Mozart.'" As a tribute to his advocacy of mass transit, U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg's body was placed aboard a D.C.-bound Amtrak train in Secaucus Wednesday. Lautenberg's family and staff accompanied the senator for his final Amtrak ride to the nation's capital, where he'll be buried on Friday in Arlington National Cemetery. Prior to the Amtrak send-off, Rabbi Daniel Cohen of Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange, the congregation where the senator belonged, eulogized Lautenberg during a ceremony and color guard salute at the Secaucus Junction station's main concourse.

Zimmermann, 19, of Far Hills, NJ, tragically passed away on March 7, 2013, while on Spring Break with his friends from his beloved Villanova University. Billy grew up in the Basking Ridge area and was a member of the Seton Hall Prep Class of 2011. He was a talented athlete and was an integral player on the Prep soccer team which won the State Championship in 2009 and the Essex County Championship in 2010. William Brad Gano passed away peacefully on Nov. 17 at home in Mendham with his family at his side. He was 56 years old. Gano was born in Bethlehem, PA, and was raised in Baltimore, MD. He and his wife Peggy moved to Mendham 21 years ago. Gano and the family also lived in Hilton Head Island, SC. Gano attended the Boys Latin School in Baltimore, where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame and recently received the award for Distinguished Alumnus. Gano graduated from Yale University in 1978 and was Captain of the Yale Lacrosse Team. He received his MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1986.
