Tough in Pink, Bernards Blanks Belvidere

Mountaineers now 3-1 on the season.

The Bernards High football team raised its season record on Friday night to 3-1, with a 27-0 shutout over Belvidere. The game was played at home on "Pinkout Night," with the goal of raising breast cancer awareness.

The Mounties scored once during each quarter of the game, moving steadily toward the final 25-yard TD run by Noah Bream.

The evening's scoring began with a TD by Jordan Tantleff on a 29-yard pass from Tyler Baum. Touchdowns were also carried over the goal line during the second and third quarters by Carter Gilpin on passes from Baum. Ryan De Leon scored on three kicks during the game.

In honor of Pinkout Night, the team was wearing jerseys designed by Bernards football junior Troy LaVecchia for the team to wear on Olcott Field.
