The Ridge Red Devils surged ahead just moments before the end of the first half of Sunday's state championship game against the Union Farmers, with some deft maneuvers that bore the signs of years of teamwork.

Ridge's Thomas Ciriaco scored the games first touchdown at 7:58 in first quarter.

The game was tied before Ryan Bell, hit with a pass from Conor Hughes, brought the game up to 14-7 for the Red Devils.

With the second quarter winding down, Ridge's Matt Soulas intercepted, and ran to the 22-yard line. A Hughes to Bell pass yielded another TD, with the first half ending shortly before 11 a.m., Ridge leading 21-7.
