Bernardsville Police Officer Wins Powerlifting Gold Medal

W. Paul Kelley, III was a top competitor in the USA Powerlifting American Open, recently held in Pennsylvania.

W. Paul Kelley, III, a Bernardsville police officer and DARE instructor won a gold medal at the USA Powerlifting American Open at the Greater Phliadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pa.

Kelley competed at the 181 lb. weight class. The powerlifter squatted 501 lbs., bench-pressed 295 lbs. and deadlifted 475 lbs. to win the gold medal. 

His win qualifies Kelley for the United States National Championships.  USA Powerlifting, a drug-free organization, is the largest powerlifting association in the country, Kelley said.
