Balanced Bernards Heads to Girls Soccer Sectional Final
Three players scored as the Mountaineers beat Caldwell in Monday's semifinals.
Three players scored as the Bernards High girls soccer team defeated Caldwell 3-0 Monday to advance to the North Jersey Section 2, Group 2 final.
Montana Sutton, Laura Galli and Emily Maheras each scored a goal for the Mountaineers (18-3-1), who forced Caldwell goalkeeper Madeline Caracappa to make 10 saves, according to NJ.com.
Fifth-seeded Bernards will face No. 6 Parsippany at home Thursday for the sectional championship. The Red Hawks beat seventh-seeded Whippany Park 2-0 in Monday's other semifinal.
