Bernards Football Eyes Playoffs After Picking Up Fifth Win

Mounties, now 5-1 on the season, to host Homecoming game Friday against Bound Brook.

The Bernards High Mountaineers logged another win on Friday, with a 14-7 victory over Roselle Park, and have now notched the team's record up to 5-1 for the season.

Mountaineer Carter Gilpin scored two touchdowns during the away game, in the first and the fourth quarter. Sebastian Sanchez also scored on a two-point conversion pass from Tyler Baum in the final quarter.

Head coach Jon Simoneau said the win will also most likely put the Mountaineers in the playoffs for the third season in a row, which he said was only done once before in school history — in '95, '96, and '97.
