$2,500 Reward Offered For Somerville Credit Union Robbery Information

Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano, states that Somerset County Crime Stoppers, Inc. is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrests of the individuals who robbed the County Educator’s Federal Credit Union Somerville branch office last week.

Prosecutor Soriano states that on June 6, 2014, at approximately 9:35 a.m. Somerville Police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting an armed robbery at the credit union.  Two unknown male subjects entered the credit union and one of the suspects pointed a firearm at one of the tellers.  Both subjects were wearing dark clothing, ski masks and gloves. Subsequent to taking an undisclosed amount of money both suspects exited the credit union and fled from the area in an unknown direction.

Law enforcement authorities are requesting that anyone with information pertaining to this crime or if anyone witnessed two males in the area of West High and Davenport Streets between 9:00 a.m. and 9:35 a.m. to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at (908) 231-7100, the Somerville Borough Police Department at (908) 725-0331, or the Federal Bureau of Investigation Newark Field Office at (973) 792-3000.  

 In order to receive the Crime Stopper’s Reward and remain anonymous, tipsters should call the Somerset County Crime Stoppers’ Tip Line at 1-888-577-TIPS (8477) or online at www.888577tips.org or www.scpo.net and click on either “Crime Stoppers” or “TIPS HOTLINE”.  All Crime Stopper tips will be kept confidential.
