Solar Application Introduction Tops News This Week

Meetings scheduled throughout Bernardsville and Bedminster.

It's Monday, the start of another work-week, the end of the weekend, and that can only mean one thing—it's time to look ahead to the week at hand.

It's going to be busy in Bernardsville and Bedminster, and we've got your list of things to look out for, from meetings to school activities and everything in between.

After much waiting, the Bedminster Land Use Board is scheduled to begin its hearings Thursday for a . The application is looking for the installation of a 55-acre, 49,000-panel industrial-scale solar power plant on the 106-acre residentially zoned farm.

The farm would power only Sanofi-Aventis on Route 202/206 in Bridgewater.

Residents have formed a group called Preserve Bedminster to oppose the application, and have said they are concerned about what this kind of solar farm could do to the community. Members of the group are expected to be in attendance at Thursday’s meeting, and the application is expected to take several meetings to complete.

  • The Somerset Hills School District Board of Education will hold a meeting Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Bernardsville Middle School.
  • The Bedminster Land Use Board will hold a meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. at the municipal building on Miller Lane.
  • The Bernardsville Planning Board will be holding a meeting Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building on Mine Brook Road.
