Another Lunchtime Music & Munch Coming to Downtown Basking Ridge

Free lunchtime music on the porch of Ridge Family Dentistry in downtown Basking Ridge on July 31.

Following the success of the first lunchtime concert held in June on the porch of Ridge Family Dentistry in Basking Ridge, the dentistry office and Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce again will present free lunchtime music on the porch on Wednesday, July 31.

Longtime township resident Michael Andrew will set up on the porch of the dentistry Office at 44-A S. Finley Ave. in downtown Basking Ridge, and begin playing at noon, to continue until approximately 1:30 p.m., according to information from the chamber.

Andrew will play the best of pop, folk and rock, with vocals and acoustic guitar, said Al LiCata, chamber president.

The chamber is partnering with the dentistry office, also a chamber member, to offer the second special outdoor music and lunch experience, presented as "Music & Munch," as a draw in the town center, accord to LiCata.

The Ridge Restaurant, which can be reached at 908-766-5701 to pre-place an order, is offering box lunches at multiple price levels for the event, according to the chamber.

LiCata said he expects other restaurants in the center of Basking Ridge also will become involved upcoming "Music & Munch" events.

“This is a wonderful idea for downtown Basking Ridge," said Joe Canderozzi, owner of The Ridge. "It allows people to relax on their lunch time, listen to music, walk about our downtown and enjoy our food. We are very happy to support the Chamber on this program and hope many come out to join us,” he said.

Some seats will be provided, as well as an assortment of downtown benches are available.

After what he said was a very good turnout and feedback from the first event in June, the chamber and partners are working to make “Music & Munch” a regular part of the chamber's  annual programming,” LiCata said.

“We want to bring people to our commerce centers and this is a relaxing way for people to take a break from work, get a pre-ordered lunch they can pick up on arrival and listen to some great music courtesy of the Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce, Ridge Family Dentistry and Wabba Travel,” said LiCata.

“When Al proposed this idea, we at Ridge Family Dentistry loved it," Karen Witt of Ridge Family Dentistry said previously. She said the dentistry office enjoys allowing the centrally located building's wide porch to be used for the annual Caroling on the Green on Christmas Eve, and other community events.

"This is another way we can help bring people to downtown Basking Ridge. We were fully on board from the start,” Witt said.
