Miles for Matheny Celebrates Community Cause (VIDEO)

Thousands run, bike and walk for the Matheny School and its students.

The 16th Annual Miles for Matheny event took place Sunday in Peapack as participants of all ages and abilities came out to enjoy the beautiful day and show their support for the Matheny School.

CBS News traffic reporter Alex Denis was given the task of starting the 5K and wheelchair walks.

"I was nervous," Denis said. "I go on TV every day, but when you've got all these people looking at you ready to charge, I was nervous the horn wouldn't blow. But everything went off without a hitch."

"This was really wonderful," she added. "I was so excited to be a part of this event. I was walking through and speaking with some of the families, the students, loved ones and volunteers. Their sense of pride and community is overwhelming. It just goes to show that there are no limits except those we put on ourselves."
