BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonder of nature as winter begins to arrive Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

CHILDREN & TEEN PROGRAMS
Polar Pot Luck
Thursday, December 19 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Children age infant to 5 with a parent will learn about everything polar
including ice, glaciers, blubber, and camouflage.
Fee is $10 per pair and $5 per additional child.

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS
Wandering Around Wallkill
Wednesday, December 18 from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Adults will venture to the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge in
northwest New Jersey to search for winter raptors, visiting High
Point State Park, Lake Marcia, the Liberty Marsh Loop, and part of
the Appalachian Trail.
Fee is $50 per adult and $40 per senior.

Origami Winter Wreath
Saturday, December 21 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Family and friends (age 8 and up) will learn the ancient art of paper
folding, making wreaths to bring home to help celebrate the
holidays.
Fee is $7 per adult and $6 per youth or senior.

Blue “BOBO (Buy One – Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch
Park in Bridgewater. The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
